Building and managing strong partnerships at the local and state level and with public and private agencies is vital to Burst for Prosperity's work. Burst for Prosperity has demonstrated a high degree of competency to form and manage diverse and broad-based interests that move the partnerships toward a common goal – the best long-term solution to stop the cycle of poverty.
Boys & Girls Clubs of King County
Boys & Girls Clubs of King County give kids ages 5-18 a safe and fun place to go after school and during the summer. Thirteen clubs throughout King County offer a wide range of activities aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles and helping kids achieve academic success, gain self-confidence, and develop good character and citizenship.
CARES of Washington
CARES of Washington provides opportunities for people to achieve stable employment and financial self-sufficiency. Services include financial literacy training, career and educational counseling, resource development, skills assessments, job readiness training, placement assistance, and follow-up support.
Center for Advanced Manufacturing Puget Sound (CAMPS)
CAMPS is a resource center that brings together manufacturers, supply chain partners, pre-qualified business development specialists, and strategic partners. CAMPS provides the connections to establish business relationships among members, share in a culture of innovation, and create supply chain development opportunities in emerging industries, technologies, and processes.
Eastern Washington University, School of Social Work and Human Services
The School of Social Work and Human Services prepares social work professionals for practice in public and private settings, with a goal of empowering disadvantaged individuals, groups, and communities to improve their quality of life. Students and faculty also work with agencies on applied research projects that strengthen the infrastructures available to address the social and economic needs of individuals and communities.
FJFisher Coaching and Consulting
Frances J. Fisher, a Master Certified Coach, is president of FJFisher Coaching and Consulting, which offers coaching-related services for individuals and groups. She is also the founder and executive director of the FJFisher Youth Foundation, which provides community service programs and personal transformation programs for youth.
Highline Community College
The most ethnically diverse community college in Washington State, Highline Community College delivers innovative education and training opportunities to foster students' personal and professional success in a multicultural world and global economy. Highline offers associate's degrees and certificate programs as well as academic programs for students intending to transfer to four-year colleges.
Hope Burundian Cooperative
The Hope Burundian Community Cooperative helps new refugees transition into their new community, encourages the sharing of art and culture with the people of Washington, and promotes socio-economic opportunities by providing training and technical assistance.
King County Department of Community and Human Services
The Department of Community and Human Services (DCHS) is the leading government agency helping low-income and special-needs residents of King County achieve stability, improved health, greater independence, and a higher quality of life. DCHS works primarily through contracts with community-based agencies but also provides direct services in the areas of prevention and early intervention, ending homelessness, criminal justice alternatives to incarceration, and job training and employment.
Northwest Cooperative Development Center
The Northwest Cooperative Development Center seeks to foster community economic development by assisting in the development of cooperative businesses of all types. The Center provides access to services such as feasibility assessments, business and strategic planning, market research, board training and organizational development, grant writing, and cooperative education.
Puget Sound Welcome Back Center/Highline Community College Foundation
The Puget Sound Welcome Back Center at Highline Community College provides individualized educational services and career counseling to help bridge the gap between the pool of internationally trained professionals living in Washington and the need for linguistically and culturally competent professional services. The Highline Community College Foundation manages financial contributions intended to support the college's students, education programs, and services.
Seattle Foundation
One of the nation's largest community foundations, the Seattle Foundation develops and leads strategic initiatives that bring together leading businesses, nonprofit organizations, foundations, public officials, and individual donors to address the complex issues facing the region. The foundation's deep ties to the community enable it to work with donors to guide strategic charitable investments that create positive community change.
SkillUp Washington
A collaboration between public, private, and philanthropic funders, SkillUp Washington seeks to address the need for adult workforce education and training that can be completed in relatively short periods of time and are of value to employers. SkillUp works to influence the programs and systems serving low-income working adults so that they work together more effectively.
Somali Bantu Farmers Association of Washington
Since arriving in the United States five years ago, the Somali Bantu community has been living in South King County. Together, they formed the Somali Bantu Association, a Kent-based community organization that provides leadership and support to help its members achieve success in farming and small business.
The SOURCE
A nonprofit organization based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, The SOURCE leverages resources from other nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and private industry in order to create more positive workplace and home environments. The SOURCE provides employee support such as education, training, classes, empowerment, resources, and job opportunities. The goal is to help residents of the community maintain employment, move into higher-wage positions, and attain lasting economic self-sufficiency.
United Way of King County
United Way of King County works to address homelessness and early learning to ensure that everyone has a safe place to live and that children are prepared for success when they enter school. The United Way also has programs aimed at older adults; children, youth, and families; domestic violence and sexual assault; health; job training and employment; and health and human services system support.
Washington Asset Building Coalition
Washington Asset Building Coalition (WABC) is an alliance of more than 50 organizations from across the state, working to create a range of private-public prosperity products for asset building, as well as develop and promote public and lending policies for asset building. The coalition also works to expand financial literacy opportunities and outcomes, and supports market savings, smart borrowing, and benefits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit.
Washington CASH
Washington Community Alliance for Self-Help (CASH) is a microenterprise development organization that provides business training, a supportive community, and access to capital in order to help enterprising individuals with limited financial resources gain self-sufficiency through small business ownership.
Washington State Microenterprise Association
The Washington State Microenterprise Association (WSMA) seeks to promote microenterprise as a viable economic development tool and strengthen systems that support microenterprise development. By building a coalition of organizations, agencies, and individuals dedicated to microenterprise development, the WSMA provides a voice and leadership for microenterprise practitioners and enhances the capacity of microenterprise-related organizations to provide business training, capital, and support.
Washington State Employment Security Department
The Employment Security Department provides employment services, unemployment benefits and insurance to help Washington's workers and employers succeed in the global economy.
WorkSource Renton
WorkSource Renton is part of an integrated delivery system for employment and training services provided by an array of local, state, non-profit, and private sector organizations dedicated to addressing local employment needs. The WorkSource program serves adults, youth, and businesses throughout South King County to connect job seekers with employers.
