Coaching For Prosperity© Training

To address the problems that lead people to cycle in and out of poverty, Burst for Prosperity developed a coaching training program for frontline staff working with low-income individuals called Coaching for Prosperity. This training program takes a collaborative approach of focusing on the strengths of low-income adults rather than deficits by transforming the way caseworkers and other professionals work with clients. Staff who complete this training learn how to effectively empower individuals to take control of their own success, hold themselves accountable (not the caseworker) and move permanently out of poverty by encouraging collaborative goal setting, trust building, listening, and networking.

The training program is intensive because coaching is mastered over time with the mentoring of certified coaches equipped with the expertise and knowledge of both coaching as well as the environment in which human and social service professionals are working. This Six-Day Intensive Program delivered in two 3-day modules, and 6 individual monthly follow-up peer sessions.

The Coaching for Prosperity training program supports a larger evaluation effort to understand how human and social service systems can more effectively deliver services to stop the cycle of poverty.
